heute möchte ich euch den passenden Soundtrack für diesen Sommer vorstellen! 13 Songs im akustischen Gewand, von denen die meisten bekannt sein sollten. Nur mit Slide, akustischer Gitarre und Harp ausgerüstet, bringt Gary Grainger mit angenehmer Stimme die Tracks rüber. Gary wer? Wer nicht gerade in England wohnt, wird ihn nicht kennen. Vor ca. 5 Jahren war er Member der Band "Black River Blues", die auch eine CD veröffentlicht hat. Bekannt ist Gary aber auch durch eine wöchentliche, hervorragende Blues Radio Show auf Bishop.FM, für die er einen Award als "Independent Blues Broadcaster of the Year" bekam. Und das hat schon Stellenwert, denn letztes Jahr gewann Paul Jones mit seiner BBC 2 Show.
Wie schon erwähnt präsentiert Gary Grainger Songs, die man kennt und deshalb ist man schon beim ersten Hören am mitsummen und singen. Allerdings drückt er ihnen schon seinen individuellen Stempel auf. Mir hat es auch Spaß gemacht zu hören und zu bestimmen, von wem die bekannten Songs im Original sind. (Nein, der "New Delhi Freight Train" ist von Terry Allen, nur bekannt wurde er von the one and only Little Feat). Die genaue Tracklist entnehmt ihr bitte dem beigefügten Foto. today I want to introduce you to the perfect soundtrack for this summer! 13 songs acoustically played and most of them you should know.
Gary Grainer presented the songs only with a slide, an acoustic guitar, a harp and a real good sounding voice. Gary who? If you're not living in the UK you won't know him.
Five years ago Gary was member of the band "Black River Blues" and they released a Live CD. But well known is Gary for his fantastic weekly Blues Radio Show on BISHOP.FM. For this show he won the award as "Independent Blues Broadcaster Of The Year". That's really something and what the prize is worth you can see at the winner the year before. It was Paul Jones with his BBC 2 show!
Like I told Gary plays well known songs and from the first listening you sing and hum with the tracks. And it was much fun to find out and guess who sings the songs in it's original form. (No, the "New Delhi Freight Train" is not written by Little Feat. It was Terry Allen but the Feat did a fantastic version on "Time Loves A Hero).
