MAGDA PISKORCZYK (pronounce: Peas-KOR-chick) is a charismatic singer with an unusual voice timbre. Guitar player and song writer. Described in France as „la voix noire et au costume blanc” (Black voice in white costume). Female Blues Vocalist of the Year 2003, 2004 and 2006 in Poland. Two time Semifinalist of the most important international blues contest: IBC, Memphis.
The author of the albums: * „Magda Live” - acoustic concert, CD nominated to the Fryderyk Award 2009 for the Best Blues Album * „Blues Travelling” - CD recorded with Michal Urbaniak, a worldwide known jazz violinist.
Magda’s music is her own tasteful arrangement of blues, gospel, soul, jazz and rock standards as well as modern songs inspired by these genres. She creates the music which is deeply set in the tradition (from Mississippi to Mali) and is innovative at the same time. Full of true emotions and message.
